From an Army Captain to Boxing Coach
Rox Boxing Gym – An endeavor, birthed purely out of love of and passion for boxing by Ex. Capt Rakesh. S for whom the love of sport began when he was a kid and stayed with him.
After serving the Armed Forces and thereafter the Corporate for several years during which time his passion for boxing extended to long distance running, cycling and high altitude mountaineering, the crossroads of life bought him back to his love for Boxing coaching and training and thus was born the Rox Boxing Gym.
Rox Boxing Gym was founded by Rakesh S on 10th April 2018.

Association with Army for Boxing Training
Rox Boxing Gym is associated with the Army’s Madras Engineering Group which is the ground zero for Indian Army boxers.
We train with the MEG boxing team to help serious boxers at the gym to improve their boxing skills and endurance levels.
Rox Boxing Gym is also proud to be associated with Capt Muniswamy Venu of the MEG, 1972 Munich Olympics Quarter Finalist who graces the gym to coach boxers.
Association with Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association:
Rox Boxing Gym is also associated with the Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association.
We train with the KABA team to help serious boxers at the gym to improve their boxing techniques and also participate in local competitions.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Rox Boxing Gym is proud to support the cause of Indie Dogs. We have been actively involved in rescuing and adopting several Indie dogs.
Affiliation with Indian Professional Boxing Academy
Rox Boxing Gym is one of the very few gyms in India to be affiliated with the prestigious body, Indian Professional Boxing Association (IPBA). IPBA is the sole sanctioning body in India for professional boxing and is affiliated with all the major international professional boxing organizations such as World Boxing Association (WBA) , World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), Asian Professional Boxing Council (APBC) , Eurasian Boxing Parliament (EBP) and WBA Asia. Besides, IPBA is a regular member nation of the World Boxing Society (WBS) and is also associated with the prestigious World Boxing Council (WBC).

Rakesh SThe CoachGreen Beret from the Indian Army, began boxing at the age of 12 under Coach Dennis Swamy , 8 times Nationals and Arjuna Award Winner in Boxing. Coached Army boxing teams during his Services Career.
PrabaHead TrainerNational level Boxer with 10+ years of boxing experience. Silver Medalist at the University level and Bronze Medalist in South Zone Gold Medalist in State Level Tournament for 4 years and Best Boxer Award for 3 years. Participated in National level tournaments for 4 years.
DIpanTrainerNational level Boxer with 8+ years of boxing experience Participated in State Level Tournaments and Nationals. Won 2 Bronze and 1 Silver Medal at the State Level.
Vibhuti JainThe NutritionistVibhuti is a biotechnology graduate. She has worked as a Software Engineer for 3 good years. Over those years, she realised that her keen interest was in learning, practising & following nutrition & fitness. While working, she pursued a diploma degree in Health Nutrition & Dietetics. She knew that since then there won’t be any turning back. Her first job as a nutritionist was in Jiyo Natural, who are into catering healthy and well balanced meals to corporates. Later, she joined as a Senior Nutritionist in an online weight loss consultation platform called LeanScience, wherein she got to transform 200+ people’s lives. The work included daily tracking & guiding food intakes of clients who were spread across the globe. At the same time she happened to become a part of a startup called Lo! Foods. Currently, she is heading the R&D department there.
