“Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall but when you refuse to stand again.”
Two people with Gloved fists, one ring, and the combat sport is evolving for a long time. Humans have always gone for hand to hand fights, so the roots of Boxing go back to the time when humans began to fight and beat each other up.
The ethics, just like any other game, is about having a winner and a loser. Knocking down the opponent without being knocked is what Boxing is about. And this includes a lot of techniques and styles and definitely a lot of practice.
A tough training gives rise of a better warrior. In the ring, the opponent is an enemy, and knocking him down is the goal.
But how is this sport helping?
The sense of victory that will run in your head, the sense of satisfaction that you have a strength within will make you feel great about yourself.
A lot of times we wish or hope to be stronger. But getting a puffed body is not the only thing that matters here.
The inner strength has to be felt. And boxing does that for you.
The intense practice might seem tiring, but hey, to win, you have to work hard.
The training will be tough as hell, you will be molded to be champion of the rings.
Leave the fears behind, you would be knocked down anyway, so why just now try to knock out once? Why not stand there with the head held high and Gloved fists ready to defend as well as an attack to whoever messes around. There will be punches and elbows that connect, defense, knockdowns, hugging and other, more subjective measures, and everything will be counted.
What matters is, you need to feel that you are the greatest, and that will fuel your urge to win, and thus you will work harder and harder to reach your goal and win.
Here are a few things you should understand
- Don’t be shy if your methods to motivate yourself are a little unorthodox. As long as you aren’t hurting yourself or others around you, do what you have to do to get where you need to be mentally. The right state of mind is key to a great workout.
- Getting in shape and improving your boxing skills is going to test your patience and frustrate you at times.
- Self-awareness is very important to your growth as a person, and it is part of the psychology of boxing. It is common to feel alone when things aren’t going as well. Everyone has been at a point where they don’t feel strong enough, fast enough, and coordinated enough.
- Take time.
Trust the process. Take all the time you need to reach the point where you are satisfied with what you are doing.
And most importantly, never stop learning.
“I hated every minute of training, But I said, Don’t quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”
-Muhammad Ali
